Preheating Systems

Nicropad designs, manufactures, and supplies Simplex and Duplex Preheating Systems for the efficient heating of heavy fuel oils flowing through pipelines. These systems are designed to raise and maintain the fuel oil at the required operating temperature, thereby improving flow characteristics and ensuring reliable and efficient fuel handling in industrial applications.

Application

NICROPAD Line Heaters are particularly suitable for heavy fuel oil applications where the fuel must reach the burner at a specified elevated temperature.

The preheating system is installed between the service tank and the burner. As fuel oil flows through the system, it is heated from the inlet temperature to the required outlet temperature before being supplied to the burner. This helps achieve the required fuel viscosity and supports efficient burner operation.

System Design

The required heating capacity and electrical power load are determined primarily by:

• Fuel oil inlet temperature
• Required outlet temperature
• Fuel oil flow rate
• Fuel properties and operating conditions

NICROPAD Preheating Systems are available in Simplex and Duplex configurations to suit different operational and reliability requirements.

In a Duplex Preheating System, one heater can be kept in operation while the second unit remains on standby. This arrangement provides operational redundancy and helps maintain continuous fuel supply during maintenance or in the event that one heater is taken out of service.
