Immersion and Outflow Heaters
Nicropad specializes in the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and commissioning of Immersion and Outflow Heaters engineered to provide reliable and efficient heating solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.
These heaters are particularly suitable for storage tanks, service tanks, process vessels, and similar installations containing oils, chemicals, fuels, and other liquid media where controlled heating is required to raise or maintain the desired operating temperature. Depending on the process requirement, heaters can be designed for direct immersion in the medium or for outflow heating applications where the fluid is heated as part of the circulation or discharge process.
Tubular Immersion Heater Bundles
Nicropad offers robust tubular heater bundles manufactured using high-quality sheath materials such as SS304, SS316, and Inconel, selected according to the operating temperature, process medium, corrosion conditions, and application requirements.
The heater bundles can be designed for higher total heating capacities while maintaining a low watt density at the heating-element surface. Low watt density is particularly important when heating temperature-sensitive or viscous media, as it helps minimize localized overheating, carbonization, degradation, and premature heater failure.
Heater assemblies can be engineered in different configurations, ratings, lengths, flange sizes, and materials to suit the specific tank dimensions, process conditions, and required heat-up time.
Bobbin-Type Heaters
In addition to conventional tubular heater bundles, Nicropads also offers bobbin-type immersion heaters and outflow heaters for applications where ease of maintenance and heater replacement are important considerations.
A key advantage of the bobbin-type construction is that the heating element can be removed, inspected, repaired, or replaced without draining or vacating the contents of the tank, subject to the specific installation design. This can significantly reduce process downtime, product loss, and maintenance requirements, particularly for large storage tanks and continuously operated systems.
Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Area Applications
Nicropads Immersion and Outflow Heaters can be designed for installation in both hazardous and non-hazardous areas. For hazardous-area applications, the heater assembly, terminal enclosure, controls, and associated components can be selected and engineered according to the applicable area classification, operating conditions, and project specifications.
Typical Applications
Immersion and Outflow Heaters can be used for heating and temperature maintenance of lubricating oils, fuel oils, hydraulic oils, process oils, chemicals, water, and other compatible industrial liquids. They are commonly installed in storage tanks, service tanks, day tanks, process vessels, and industrial heating systems.
Each heating system can be custom-engineered based on tank capacity, process medium, required temperature rise, operating temperature, heat-up time, available electrical supply, watt-density limitations, material compatibility, installation conditions, and hazardous-area classification, ensuring a safe, efficient, and reliable heating solution for the intended application.
